BREAK THE GUN LOBBY STOP SCHOOL KILLERS: Senator Mike Lee

If you live in Utah, register and vote on November 8: you can call to account Senator Mike Lee, taking his share of Gun Lobby money and leading the hardliners in the Senate who want to roll back existing gun-control laws. He seems more willing to send condolences and prayers for the victims of gun violence than to vote for wiser gun-control-legislation. Gun manufacturers and marketers, and their lobbyists, have a lock on the votes and power of nearly 40 U.S. Senators in Washington. But our U.S. Constitution requires, every two years, one-third of the 100 U.S. Senators to stand for re-election. One-third - that’s 33 Senators who have blocked every reasonable and legal way to keep guns out of the hands of killers. The reason the Constitution requires that is to give voters a voice – a voice to evaluate and comment on their senators’ work over the six years of their senatorial terms (or longer). Don't stand on the sidelines November 8. Take a stand for the lives of our school children and vote against Senator Mike Lee. Pass the word and tell your friends.

SAVE THE CHILDREN! There is a dreadful link between the existence of 15 million AR-15 rapid-fire, military-style guns in this country and the number of gun-driven massacres in schools and other public places. That link and those results derive because of the iron hand that the Gun Lobby holds over like-minded U.S. Senators who take literally millions of dollars to vote the way the Gun Lobby directs them. If you look at the record of the committee meeting in which the Gun Lobby sought to kill Senator Chris Murphy's Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022, you can see a dozen or more senators who now and over the years have constituted rock-solid votes against gun-control. They are up for re-election on November 8. This blog briefly profiles them and asks that voters call them to account by voting against them for their bad records on guns. If voters remove them from Congress, the political result would be to greatly weaken the influence and control of the Gun Lobby to an extent that the Gun Lobby hasn't felt in more than 30 years. Removing Gun Lobby senators would create openings for new senators with new and more positive thinking about gun-control that would save our children's lives. If the Gun Lobby were weakened and couldn't produce results¸ it would make gun money from gun manufacturers, marketers, and distributors dry up. Meaning less advertising and propaganda for gun purchases. Voters can make a start on this November 8. Don’t stand on the sidelines. No one can stand on the sidelines. YOU can break the Gun Lobby.
